The ecological tenant that pattern and process are intricately linked is readily apparent whenever you enter a forest. Forest structure can tell us about the management and disturbance history of a forest, as well as provide insight in to the key ecological processes that are influencing a forests development.
By increasing our understanding of how forest structure influences the composition and dynamics of these ecosystems we aim to improve our ability evaluate and sustainably manage our forests for a range of ecosystem services.
